Without a doubt, 2022 was a year with a very large number of marriages compared to the previous year as we transition out of the pandemic. With the same intensity, of course, it seems that this will continue in 2023, which is predicted to be a dynamic and hot year for new couples who are planning to take the next step.
Like every new year, 2023 brings with it new trends for weddings in ’23. Famous agencies abroad have already dubbed the emerging trend “the Naomi Biden effect”. The trend was inspired by the wedding of the first granddaughter of the President of the United States and features long veils and Grace Kelly’s inspired bridal looks, a style that many brides will adopt in 2023.
Regarding the organization and the wedding day, there is a trend for the ceremony to be held at midday, so that there is a pause between the cocktail party, the reception and the dinner, for guests to recharge their batteries and party until late into the night. In the past, it was common for the ceremony to take place in the morning and the reception to be held in the late afternoon, a practice followed by many famous couples, especially royalty, and now we see this shifting to midday.
Another new trend for guests coming from distant places are “welcome events”, be it early midday in the form of a “beach party” or an afternoon “cocktail party”. It is customary, when the events involve commuting and travel on the part of guests, that a dinner or a party be held in their honor for the couple to have the chance to thank them.
Rhodes is one of the prime destinations for weddings and as an island destination, again this year, beach bars have their distinct place, as they can provide services for any occasion, from private parties, bachelor parties, cocktail parties to wedding receptions which remain unforgettable for guests.
Finally, in terms of wedding design, more and more couples choose to decorate the ceilings of the hall where their reception is held with lights, fairy lights, flowers, or with complex installations that include all of the above and are the dominant element of the overall decoration of the wedding.
